1. Nicene Creed
b. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
one in Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under
Pontius Pilate;
he suffered, died, and was
buried.
On the third day he rose again
in fulfillment of the
Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the
Father.
He will come again in glory to judge
the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
2.
Fully God
a.
Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God
b. 2
Peter 1:1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who
have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our
God and Savior Jesus Christ
c. Many
more verses speak of Him as the Son of God
3.
Fully Man
a. Romans
5:15-17 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through
one man's trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the
grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. 16 And
the free gift is not like the result of that one man's sin. For the judgment
following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many
trespasses brought justification. 17 For if,
because of one man's trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more
will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness
reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
4.
Savior—Council of Jerusalem testimony

8.

enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where
Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest
forever after the order of Melchizedek.
12. Shepherd
a. 1

15. Died,
buried, risen again
a.
Luke 24:19-35 And he said to them, “What
things?” And they said to him, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a man who
was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, 20 and how our chief priests and rulers delivered
him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him. 21 But
we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this,
it is now the third day since these things happened. 22 Moreover,
some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the
morning, 23 and when they did not find his
body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who
said that he was alive. 24 Some of those who
were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him
they did not see.” 25 And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets
have spoken! 26 Was it
not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his
glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses
and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things
concerning himself. 28 So they drew near to
the village to which they were going. He acted as if he were going farther, 29 but they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with
us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent.” So he went in to
stay with them. 30 When he was at table with
them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognized
him. And he vanished from their sight. 32 They
said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on
the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” 33 And
they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven
and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying,
“The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35 Then
they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the
breaking of the bread.
16. At
the right hand of the Father for eternity, interceding for us
a. Hebrews
12:2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy
that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated
at the right hand of the throne of God.
b. Romans
8:34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who
was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
17. Sovereign
of the Universe
a. I
Timothy 6:13-15 I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all
things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius
Pilate made the good confession, 14 to keep
the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our
Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which he will display
at the proper time—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings
and Lord of lords,
18. Kenosis
Philippians 2:7
a. Let
each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of
others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves,
which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not
count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but
made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being
born in the likeness of men. 8 And being
found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of
death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God
has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and
every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
